Fabrication of Expanded Graphite Via Microwave Irradiation And Application In Energy Storage Devices

Expanded graphene (EG) is a form of graphene whose surface area is increased and is a promising material for supercapacitors. In this thesis, production parameters of EG via microwave irradiation will be determined to obtain the best EG for supercapacitor applications. The characterization of the produced EG will mainly involve X-ray diffraction, SEM, TEM, Raman Spectroscopy and electrochemical measurements.
