ULTRASONIC SPRAY DEPOSITION OF METAL OXIDE THIN FILMS


Metal oxides have attracted great attention due to their relatively low cost, and they are very simple to manufacture in the nanoscale level. They can be used in various research areas such as electrodes for Li-ion batteries and solar cells, gas sensors, photovoltaics and catalysts. Furthermore, metal oxide thin films have recently played important role for carrier-selective heterocontact solar cell applications because of its great work function values. The usage of metal oxides as a carrier-selective material provides wide range for optical and electrical properties of these solar cells. Metal oxide films can be produced with large range of different techniques such as ultrasonic spray deposition, atomic layer deposition and electrochemical deposition. Ultrasonic spray deposition method is the flexible, simple and low-cost technique to deposit metal oxide thin films. In this thesis, the different metal oxide precursor solutions will be deposited on substrates via ultrasonic spray deposition method with different range of temperatures. Detailed optoelectronic and structural properties of the deposited thin films will be investigated.
